These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and WebAppyPie ("we", "us"), the publisher of WappTidy ("the App"), a media cleaner and organizer for WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business media on Android (package name com.webappypie.wapptidy). Questions: support@webappypie.com
1. Summary
- WappTidy helps you find, review, organize and clean WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business media on your phone. You decide what happens to every file.
- Deletions on Android 10 and older are permanent, and the Android Recycle Bin on Android 11 and newer keeps files only for a limited time. Keep backups of anything important.
- All cleaning, review, organizing and recovery features are free. Lifetime Premium is a one-time purchase that removes ads.
- WappTidy is independent and not affiliated with WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc.
2. Acceptance of these Terms
By downloading, installing or using WappTidy you agree to these Terms and to the WappTidy Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App and uninstall it. Your use of Google Play is also governed by Google Play's Terms of Service. If these Terms conflict with mandatory consumer-protection law in your country, that law prevails.
3. About WappTidy
WappTidy is a storage utility for Android. It analyses media saved by WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business on your phone (photos, videos, audio, voice notes and documents) to help you find exact duplicates, similar and blurry photos, large videos, screenshots and old media; review files one by one with Swipe review; protect files with "Keep Forever"; search, organize, move and copy files into a WappTidy folder; see storage breakdowns and trends; and restore files from the Android Recycle Bin where Android supports it.
WappTidy is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc. "WhatsApp" is a trademark of WhatsApp LLC and is used only to describe the media WappTidy works with. The App does not read your chats, does not connect to WhatsApp's servers and does not change your WhatsApp backups.
4. Eligibility
You may use WappTidy if you are at least 13 years old (or the minimum age for digital services in your country) and are able to accept these Terms. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the App only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who must accept these Terms for you; in-app purchases require their approval. Use the App only on a device you own or are authorised to manage.
5. Your licence to use WappTidy
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use WappTidy on Android devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial purposes. Lifetime Premium (section 10) extends this licence with the Premium benefits for the Google account that bought it.
6. Permitted use and restrictions
You agree not to:
- use the App to access, copy, move or delete files you have no right to handle, or on another person's device without their permission;
- use the App for any unlawful purpose, including handling media whose possession or distribution is illegal;
- copy, modify, decompile, reverse engineer or create derivative works of the App, except where the law expressly allows it;
- remove, bypass or interfere with ads, Premium checks, licensing, security or signature-verification features;
- tamper with, overload or try to gain unauthorised access to the App's online services (including WAPCentral), or use them through automated means;
- generate fraudulent ad impressions or clicks;
- resell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the App.
7. Your responsibilities
- Review before you confirm. The App suggests files and may pre-select copies according to your settings, but you choose and confirm every delete, move, copy and restore.
- Back up what matters. Before cleaning, keep backups of important photos, videos, voice notes and documents. WappTidy is not a backup service.
- Check results. Duplicate, similarity and blur detection are automated aids. "Similar" or "blurry" results can include photos you want to keep.
- Respect others. Media received in WhatsApp may belong to other people. You are responsible for how you store, copy and share it.
- Keep your device ready. Make sure there is enough free space before copying or moving files, and keep Android and the App updated.
8. Media and file handling
- On-device processing. The App analyses your media on your phone and does not upload your files, file names or paths.
- No automatic deletion. The App never deletes, moves or overwrites files on its own. Optional scheduled scans only find cleanup suggestions.
- Access you grant. The App can only see the media Android lets it access: the media permission you grant (including "selected photos" access) and folders you choose to share. If you limit or revoke access, results may be incomplete.
- Copy and move. Copies are written into a "WappTidy" folder inside the location you choose (or, on Android 10 and newer without a chosen folder, into WappTidy folders in your shared storage). A copy's size is verified before an original is removed. A move removes the original only after Android asks you to confirm and you agree.
- Protected files. Files marked "Keep Forever" cannot be removed from inside the App. This protection applies only within WappTidy; other apps, including WhatsApp, can still change or delete them.
- Read-only items. WhatsApp backups, databases and system files are shown in the Storage Explorer for information only. The App does not delete or modify them.
- WhatsApp behaviour. WhatsApp may re-download, re-create or reorganize its media at any time. We cannot control how WhatsApp or Android store files.
9. Deletion and recovery limitations
- Android 11 and newer: files deleted with the App are normally moved to Android's Recycle Bin. The App shows each item's expiry date as reported by Android. Android, not WappTidy, decides how long items are kept (normally about 30 days) and removes them automatically when they expire. Items can be restored only before then.
- Android 10 and older: Android has no system Recycle Bin. Deletions are permanent, and the App warns you before deleting.
- Hidden files from the Android/media folder cannot go to the Recycle Bin. Deleting them is permanent, and the App tells you before you confirm.
- "Delete forever" permanently removes items from the Recycle Bin. They cannot be restored by the App.
- Files may also become unrecoverable if they are removed by Android, another app, a device reset, a storage failure, or by uninstalling the app that owns them.
- Restoring from the Recycle Bin never depends on watching ads or on Premium.
- We cannot recover files that were permanently deleted or that have expired from the Android Recycle Bin.
10. Lifetime Premium
- What it is: an optional, one-time in-app purchase. Premium currently removes all ads. All core features (scanning, review, Swipe review, move and copy, organizing and recovery) remain available in the Free version without artificial limits.
- Price and payment: the price is shown in the App and on Google Play before you buy, in your local currency, including any taxes Google applies. Payment is processed by Google Play under its terms; we do not receive your payment details.
- "Lifetime" means for as long as WappTidy is offered and supported on Google Play for your Google account. It is not a subscription and does not renew.
- Restoring: use "Restore purchases" in Settings on a device signed in with the same Google account.
- Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policy. Contact us if you have a problem with your purchase. This does not limit any statutory rights you have.
- If a purchase is refunded, charged back or cancelled, Premium benefits may be removed.
11. Advertising
The Free version is supported by ads served by Google AdMob. Ads are clearly labelled and are never shown inside delete or restore confirmations, permission steps or Swipe review. Where the law requires, we ask for your consent before ads are requested; you can change your choice under Settings > Ad privacy choices. Ads are provided by third parties: we do not endorse advertised products, and your dealings with advertisers are between you and them. Do not tap ads to generate revenue artificially.
12. Promotions and notifications
The App may show labelled promotions from WebAppyPie and in-app announcements. Promotions and announcements may link to other apps or websites, which open only when you tap them. Push notifications are optional and off by default; you can turn them, and local alerts and reminders, off at any time in Settings. Any offer described in a promotion is subject to its own terms.
13. Third-party services
The App relies on services provided by others, including Android, Google Play and Google Play Billing, Google AdMob and its consent platform, and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, as well as WebAppyPie's WAPCentral service. Their use is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, websites or content that we do not control, or for changes they make that affect the App.
14. Availability and updates
We work to keep WappTidy reliable, but we do not guarantee that it will always be available, compatible with every device or Android version, or free of errors. Online features (notifications, promotions, ads) depend on our services and those of third parties and may be paused, for example during maintenance or an outage. We may release updates that add, change or remove features; some updates may be needed to keep using the App. On-device cleaning features do not require an internet connection.
15. Intellectual property
WappTidy, including its software, design, name, logo, icons and text, is owned by WebAppyPie or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks. Open-source components included in the App are licensed under their own licences, listed in the App under Settings > Open Source Licenses. Your media and files remain yours; we claim no rights to them. If you send us feedback or suggestions, you allow us to use them to improve the App without obligation to you.
16. Privacy
The WappTidy Privacy Policy explains what data the App processes and the choices you have. It forms part of these Terms.
17. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WappTidy is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will identify every duplicate, similar, blurry or unneeded file, that its suggestions will match your preferences, that any particular amount of storage will be freed, or that deleted files can be recovered. Storage figures shown by the App are based on the files Android lets it access and may differ from figures shown by Android or WhatsApp. Some countries do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of the above may not apply to you.
18. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WebAppyPie will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, files, media, memories, profits or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, WappTidy. This includes files you chose to delete, move or copy, files removed when they expire from Android's Recycle Bin, and actions of WhatsApp, Android or third-party services.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the App is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for Lifetime Premium in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) USD 10.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
19. Termination
You may stop using WappTidy at any time by uninstalling it. Uninstalling deletes the App's on-device data but does not delete files in your WappTidy folder or cancel a past purchase. We may suspend or end your access to the App's online services if you materially breach these Terms, or if we stop offering WappTidy, giving reasonable notice where possible. Sections 8, 9, 15, 17, 18 and 21 continue to apply after termination.
20. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the App, the law or our services. We will update the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you in the App or on Google Play before they take effect. If you continue using the App after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms; if you do not agree, stop using the App.
21. General
- These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about WappTidy.
- If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
- You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours as part of a reorganisation or sale of WappTidy, without reducing your rights.
- These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at WebAppyPie's place of establishment, without affecting the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live. Before starting any formal dispute, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally.
